HELIOS 2025 Update
Creator Steve Warnek is working hard to and is close to getting this out
for commercialization on the open audio book market. Marketing is a long
and tedious process. The team completed the project and it has gone
through a series of edits and tweaks. Patience and time will endure.
The Music
Musically speaking 2023 has been an interesting year for me. In the spring of 2023 I received a call from LA and was asked to score an audio drama written by writer and producer, Steve Warnek. Steve is the writer who wrote the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine third season episode “The Abandoned” with D. Thomas Maio. I had worked with Steve on a few occasions and I was very excited to have gotten the call. I knew Steve had originally done a video pilot for the project and was now going a different route using S.A.G. actors and actresses and west coast studios to create an audio version of the story.
The Story
This science fiction drama entitled “HELIOS”, centers around a post apocalyptic world with many twists and turns written into the plot. I began reading the script and immediately became absorbed in the story line, plot, the characters and their emotional connections. After about 2 months and covering many different forms and genres of thematic, pop, jazz, country, r&b, sound FX and symphonic music I had sent in all of my final takes. It was challenging work and I appreciate the confidence that Steve and the production crew have in my work.
The Work
Needless to say, it was a challenging project and I greatly appreciate the confidence that Steve and the production crew have in my work. The actors assembled in LA and Burbank to record the voiceovers and the project is in its final editing stages on the west coast. The team scheduled the release of HELIOS for the end of January 2024. I am looking forward to hearing this production in its finality. They are already talking about two sequels and I am looking forward to future work.
